Finishing our second week of Ones To Watch 2024 is Nigerian-born, Nottingham-based breakthrough pop artist JERUB. He first came to our attention in February this year when we featured his warm and atmospheric single ‘Cold’. His amalgamation of gospel, soul, R&B and pop quickly showed the 25 year old had a knack for writing songs of genuine emotion and an artist with bags of potential. Since then, he has opened the King's Coronation Concert with Pete Tong’s Heritage Orchestra and Vula, performed at the Great Escape and Latitude (BBC Introducing Stage), headlined the Lower Third, and supported JP Cooper on his 30 date UK and European Tour. In June, he released this beautifully heartfelt ode from his ‘Finding My Feet’ EP, which was a BBC Introducing ‘Track of the Week’ and will shortly feature on 12 month Nescafé ad campaign for TV and online across the UK, Europe and Eurasia. Tastemaker support has come from Radio 1 (Mollie King), BBC Introducing (Gemma Bradley), Apple Music, Deezer, Sunday Brunch, Notion, Wonderland, Noctis, MTV and many more. It’s been great to see JERUB’s progression over the last nine months and with his last EP songs proving that he is a talent to keep an eye on in 2024.
