BDi Music has signed multi-talented producer, composer and songwriter Robert Primrose to a worldwide, exclusive publishing deal.
Based in Bristol, having graduated from Bath Spa in 2017, Primrose has produced soundtracks for iconic brands such as Honda, for the exhilarating 'Are You Type R?' campaign, and Sanctuary Spa for its 'Let Go' campaign.
The latter created a global movement, amassing more than 55 million streams online, and featured in The Times, Telegraph, BBC, Marie Claire and Huffington Post.
Most recently, Primrose composed the soundtrack for Demelza's 'Full Life' appeal, where he collaborated with Daniel Radcliffe who provided the film’s narration. The piece has been shortlisted for the Charity Film Awards.
As a songwriter, Primrose is best known for his work as part of Swimming Girls, through which he has had significant airplay including Radio X, Amazing Radio, Elton John's Beats 1 Rocket Hour show, and BBC Radio 1, which listed Swimming Girls’ Tastes Like Money as a Radio 1 Introducing Track Of The Week. Primrose has also played Glastonbury's John Peel Stage in his own right.
The signing is the first for BDi Music’s Junior A&R James Paterson.
Paterson said: “I’d like to thank Sarah [Liversedge – BDi Music Founder] for her belief in me and my A&R ability. I have been a big fan of Robert’s musical projects for a long time. There is a lot of hard work ahead, but I know he will continue to excel as a songwriter and composer across genres with support from myself, Sarah and the Yucatan management team.”
Yucatan’s Seb Fagg said: “We are thrilled for Roo as he embarks on this next chapter in his career, and we are delighted to be working with Sarah and her team.”
Robert Primrose said: “I couldn’t be more excited to grow and progress as a composer and songwriter with BDi Music. They are truly about nurturing careers. Sarah and James’ passion is inspiring.”
