Born in Northampton, Lockett first found himself breaking through into the spotlight back in 2016 when he was showcased on BBC Introducing with his debut EP ‘Burn It Down’. The EP worked its way up and gained 1.6 million streams on Spotify. With a similar sound to Bon Iver, London Grammar and Cinematic Orchestra, Lockett manages to create bittersweet sounds which touches on raw emotions on each track. Finding his feet in one of the toughest industries, Lockett is now signed with Parlophone.
His recent single dropped a few weeks ago and has already shined a light once again on Lockett's talent. ‘Every Time You’re High’ is the powerful single which he co-wrote with Jackson Dimiglio-Wood and Sam McCarthy. Alongside the track, Lockett created a music video with the help from Sye Allen, in which the strong message behind the lyrics is portrayed. The video unpicks the truth about the constant nightmare based around the battle of addiction – which is something that has been a struggle in Lockett’s own life.
