New BBC drama, Legacy, premieres tonight on BBC2 - music composed by Ruth Barrett

BBC Two’s one-off Cold War drama Legacy will premiere on Thursday November 28th at 9pm, it has been announced. Based on the Alan Judd novel of the same name and developed for television by The Politician’s Husband scribe Paula Milne, Legacy has been described as a gripping espionage thriller set during the height of the Cold War in 1970s London. The drama follows Charles Thoroughgood, who discovers the disturbing truth about his father’s complex past. Fresh out of the army, Charles has barely begun his training in Britain’s secret intelligence service, MI6, when his university association with a Soviet diplomat lands him on a case. The drama is produced by Slim Film & Television and stars  Charlie Cox (Boardwalk Empire), Tessa Peake-Jones (Only Fools And Horses), Christian McKay (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy), Romola Garai (The Hour), Andrew Scott (Sherlock), Simon Russell Beale (The Hollow Crown) and Olivia Grant (Strike Back). Legacy was directed by Dredd helmer Pete Travis. Music composed by Ruth Barrett.
