Art-pop aficionado Æ MAK - aka Aoife McCann is a songwriter, producer, performer and vocalist. Think Sia, Grimes, Paul Simon energy with the limbs of a young David Byrne if he were captain of the Battlestar.
Known for creating other-worldly pop music with industrial beats, AE MAK has spent the last few years releasing a series of EPs which have seen regular support from Spotify’s New Music Friday UK & Ireland editorial playlists, as well as their Good Energy, Irish Dance and Alternative Ireland playlists. She has been covered and aired by the likes of Official Charts, Dork, DIY, NME.com, The Line Of Best Fit, NPR, Clash Magazine, Nialler9, BBC Radio 1, BBC 6Music, BBC Radio 2, RTÉ, Today FM, Radio X and more.
Aoife has already performed across Ireland, The Netherlands, Germany, the UK and Iceland. She has supported the likes of Tune Yards, Django Django and Warpaint, as well as performing at festivals such as Fusion, Reading & Leeds, KEXP Iceland Airwaves and Electric Picnic. Her songwriting led to her signing a world-wide publishing deal with BDi Music in 2019.
